Ice Cream Social & Movie Viewing

  • Harrisonburg Mennonite Church 1552 South High Street Harrisonburg, VA, 22801 (map)

Join us on Wednesday, August 9 at 6:30 p.m. for an ice cream social and intergenerational viewing of DreamWorks The Prince of Egypt (PG). This 90-minute animated musical follows the life of Moses as told in the beginning of the book of Exodus. What a great way to begin winding up our summer sermon series.

Here is the trailer for the movie if you would like to learn more: https://www.google.com/search?q=the+prince+of+egypt+trailer&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS772US772&oq=the+prince+of+Egypt+trailer&aqs=chrome.0.0i512j0i22i30i395l3j0i390i395i650l2j69i61.7501j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Parents: The Common Sense Media movie review* recommends this movie for those 8 and above with the following concerns, "There are scenes of enslaved people being whipped, hit, and verbally and physically abused. Hieroglyphic art shows babies being thrown into crocodile-infested waters. Moses kills an overseer of enslaved people." The movie is rated PG, not G. If parents would like to see clips of the actual scenes mentioned, you can click on the links below. * https://www.commonsensemedia.org/movie-reviews/the-prince-of-egypt
